5Fifty5 Townhomes is a 47-unit multi-family residential development located on a 4.12-acre site at 555 SW 7th Street in downtown Des Moines. The project delivers a mix of two to four-bedroom townhome units designed to provide modern, urban living with pedestrian-friendly spaces and connections to downtown and the city’s trail network.
CDA provided full civil engineering and surveying services from early planning through project completion. Scope of work included topographic and ALTA surveys, demolition coordination, site grading and utility design, stormwater management facilities, tree mitigation and landscape planning, and preparation of public construction documents. CDA also managed easement preparation, final platting, retracement surveys, and regulatory approvals, including FAA and DNR permitting, along with SWPPP and SWMP documents.
The project is a contemporary urban development that balances density and functionality while supporting long-term infrastructure needs for this downtown community.
