CDA Celebrates Ribbon Cutting of New Ellipsis Iowa Facility on Des Moines’ North Side

On Tuesday, July 29, CDA joined Ellipsis Iowa, community leaders, and local officials to celebrate the ribbon cutting of its newest facility, the Barbara Lee Noble Campus, located at 5525 Meredith Drive in Des Moines. The project transformed a 1.41-acre site and 14,000-square-foot, two-story building into a space designed to meet the diverse needs of girls and young women in foster care and transitional housing.

The lower level of the facility now includes ten foster care beds arranged in dorm-style rooms for girls ages 12 to 17. Upstairs, eight independent apartment-style units are available for young women ages 16 to 21 who are transitioning out of foster care. Each unit includes its own kitchen and bathroom, providing a greater sense of independence as residents learn to live on their own. Both floors feature lounge areas and flexible spaces for programs and social connection, while outdoor amenities will include a basketball and volleyball court, and picnic area.

CDA provided comprehensive site planning and civil engineering support for the Barbara Lee Noble Campus. The project architect was Slingshot Architecture.
