Douglas Parkway Reconstruction

Douglas Parkway Reconstruction

CDA led the reconstruction of Douglas Parkway from just west of 156th Street in Urbandale to Alice’s Road in Waukee, working in coordination with the Cities of Urbandale, Clive, and Waukee. The design featured a 73′ back-to-back typical section, transitioning from the existing 80′ section with minimal impact to adjacent properties. It was also coordinated with planned developments, including a future elementary school and the Angel Park project in Clive.

The project included a 4-acre regional detention pond near the Douglas Parkway and Berkshire Parkway intersection, providing 850,000 cubic feet of storage and balancing earthwork across the site. Enhancements along the Clive corridor featured decorative lighting and landscaping consistent with nearby streetscapes. Additional improvements included grading, storm sewer, drainage structures, and associated permits.
