This project is a 16.55 acre redevelopment site within the Merle Hay Road Overlay District, which was a joint venture between the City of Johnston and a private developer. The Johnston Town Center project included a 42,000 square foot City Hall building, multiple retail and restaurant buildings, parking, site utilities, and landscaping.
The project also features “The Yard,” which is a gathering space for various community events, such as concerts, farmers markets, and movie nights. The project also features a splashpad area for younger children that will be open for use within the summertime. The splashpad area can also be converted into synthetic ice for community skating during the wintertime. The storm water detention for the project featured traditional detention volume, above ground and below ground, as well as water quality treatment through bioretention basins.
Civil Design Advantage was also a part of the Town Center’s hotel project, which is a GrandStay Hotel & Suites that opened in September of 2024. More details about the project can be found on our Happenings page.
