Meredith Drive Paving Project – 142nd to 128th

CDA was contracted by the City of Urbandale to develop plans for Meredith Drive from 142nd Street to 128th Street. This roadway reconstruction project included removal of a rural two-lane road and replacement with a new four-lane divided urban arterial roadway, along with intersection improvements at Meredith Drive/142nd Street and Meredith Drive/128th Street. Construction also included the north and south legs of 142nd Street from Meredith Drive.

CDA addressed stormwater design, including storm sewer pipe, intake, and culvert design, along with grading and other elements related to a functional roadway design. The project also included utility coordination, development of a construction staging plan, and right-of-way acquisition, easements, and temporary easement plats.

CDA provided topographic and boundary survey, preliminary and final design, construction cost estimating, acquisition plat preparation, coordination with utility companies, DNR permitting, and coordination with IDOT.

The project received the 2017 ICPA Municipal Street/Intersection PCC Paving Project Award.
