North Polk High School and its athletic facilities are situated on 65 acres off NE 6th Street in Alleman. The project began in 2011 when CDA teamed up with an architect and school officials. They developed a comprehensive plan for a new high school campus, including various outdoor athletic facilities.
As the high school construction progressed, CDA focused on designing a modern football and soccer stadium. This stadium would become a key feature of the campus. The plans included a synthetic turf field, a running track, long jump pits, and areas for discus and shot put events. CDA worked with the architect to create final construction documents, these documents detailed the installation of an advanced drainage system for the field, an asphalt track, two long jump pits, three shot put areas, and two discus fields. The design also included mass grading for two multi-purpose practice fields. Additional elements were the concession stand/restroom building, scoreboard, press box, and stadium bleachers.
During construction, CDA assisted with the bidding process and performed minimal observation. They also developed the final punch list. Other services included reviewing shop drawings and responding to Requests for Information (RFIs). CDA’s comprehensive involvement helped ensure the project’s successful completion, benefiting both the school and the wider community.
