Construction Observation
Located along Pella’s eastern limits, adjacent to the east and Old State Highway 163, the new Pella Sports Park spans approximately 105 acres of former cropland. The vision for the park includes 13 baseball and softball fields, concessions, restroom and utility buildings, a playground, several multi-purpose fields, batting cages, strategically placed parking lots, and various other site amenities.
Civil Design Advantage was selected to provide master planning, conceptual design, preliminary design, final design, and construction administration services. The master planning encompassed the entire 105-acre site. The preliminary design, focused on phase 1 construction, included geotechnical investigation, environmental permitting, and the preparation of preliminary construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents according to industry standards. The final design phase involved the preparation of detailed construction and contract documents to facilitate project bidding in compliance with state and federal laws. During the construction phase, Civil Design Advantage provided construction administration, observation, and construction staking services.
