Civil Design Advantage (CDA) is accepting applications for a full-time Survey Crew Chief. CDA is looking for a self-motivated, highly organized, and ambitious professional to play a key role in surveying projects of all kinds. Candidate will work directly with other Survey Crew Chiefs, project managers and design team members in a fast-paced, high-culture environment, providing surveying services for projects in the Des Moines metro area and across the State of Iowa, including a wide variety of public and private land development projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform fieldwork for Topographic Surveys, Boundary Surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, Plat of Surveys and Construction Staking.
- Document field notes.
- Operate GPS, total stations, and data collectors.
- Transfer files between data collectors and internal company project folders.
- Provide communication to the office teams regarding project status, daily progress, and arising issues.
- Maintain productive working relationships with clients and coworkers.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are consistently followed within the survey department.
Qualifications
- A minimum of five years’ experience performing all types of survey projects, including boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, flood plain surveys and as-built record surveys is required
- Total Station, GPS and basic Autocad knowledge required. Experience with Civil 3D is desirable.
- Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
- Valid Driver’s License and willingness to travel for projects.
- Strong organizational skills, with high level of attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Self-motivated, enjoys challenges, learning new things, and demonstrates reliability and professionalism.
- Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments.
- Ability to carry survey equipment and supplies in remote, rural or urban surroundings.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk long distances.
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions subject to weather and changing environments.
- Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification is a plus.
