The Kettlestone Central Sports Complex in Waukee, Iowa, is nearing completion and is set to become the largest youth sports venue in the state. The development will feature two 70,000-square-foot field houses, offering a total of 12 basketball courts or 18 volleyball courts, along with an outdoor basketball court. Anticipated to open in March 2025, the complex will be operated by the Iowa Youth Athletic Foundation.
Designed to resemble vintage field houses, the brick structures will house a variety of sports facilities, including spaces for volleyball, basketball, pickleball, wrestling, and gymnastics. In addition to the two gymnasiums, each with six courts, the complex will also include administrative offices and storage buildings. The gymnasiums will feature sunken courts with stadium seating, capable of hosting multiple sports simultaneously.
The 15.49-acre site will be designed with pedestrian-friendly pathways and will provide over 760 parking spaces. Conveniently located along Grand Prairie Parkway, the southern side of Waukee, the complex has easy access to Interstate 80. The Kettlestone Development spans more than 70 acres and will include restaurants, shopping, bars, hotels, and entertainment venues.
