The Civil Design Advantage team was proud to take part in UnityPoint Health’s Festival of Trees & Lights as a Tree Farm Decorator. Our staff designed an engineering and construction-themed Christmas tree for the Festival’s Tree Farm Silent Auction, where guests can bid to take home one of the themed decorated trees and accompanying themed gifts.
The Festival runs from Friday, November 28 through Sunday, November 30 at the Iowa Events Center in downtown Des Moines. It is held at the Veterans Memorial Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center. Event details are available on the official Festival website.
This event is the largest annual fundraiser for Blank Children’s Hospital. It supports two essential programs: Child Life and the Center for Advocacy & Outreach. Child Life specialists help young patients feel safe and supported. They use age-appropriate language to guide children through their hospital visits. Meanwhile, the Center for Advocacy & Outreach provides education and injury-prevention programs that help keep children safe in the community.
The 42nd annual event features decorated trees, performances from local groups, visits with Santa, hands-on activities, and stories from families cared for at Blank Children’s Hospital. Since its debut in 1984, the Festival has raised more than $18 million for programs that support children and families.
