Kettlestone Central Sports Complex Officially Opens in Waukee

Iowa Youth Athletic Foundation (IYAF) Sports Complex Now Open in Waukee

Located at 2045 SE Glacier Trail, the IYAF Sports Complex is officially open in Waukee, Iowa. The project has been in the works for years and is now the largest youth sports facility in the state.

The complex features two 70,000-square-foot field houses. Inside, you’ll find 12 basketball courts or 18 volleyball courts, plus space for pickleball, wrestling, gymnastics, and more. It’s designed with sunken courts and stadium-style seating to host several games at once.

The Iowa Youth Athletic Foundation operates the facility and plans to hold 40 to 45 events each year. Families will also enjoy the modern amenities built with young athletes in mind.

Waukee city leaders called the opening a major milestone. Developers expect the complex to generate $125 million each year for the local economy.

Civil Design Advantage provided the civil engineering and surveying services for the project. The 15.49-acre site includes wide sidewalks, over 760 parking spaces, and easy access to Grand Prairie Parkway and I-80.

The complex is part of the larger Kettlestone Development, which includes restaurants, shops, hotels, and entertainment venues.

Other developments in the area include the Dancin’ With Roxie dance studio, which broke ground in October 2024. The studio plans to open in 2025 as part of the Kettlestone Central development. To read more about the project click here.
